Add "TWEET THIS" button to blogger.

As per the http://en.wikipedia.org Twitter is a free social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access.

I have seen "Tweet This" button on most of the blogs. Also some of our blogger friends inquired about it. I have found a Java Script created by Bit. Adding Tweet This will make your blog posts available for wider audiences.  Here is a Live Demo.

So let's add this to you blog.

Method 1 (using a Java Script created by Bit.)

Login to blogger and backup your template. Go to Layout > Edit HTML and click on "Expand widget templates". Press CTRL F and look for following code
<div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'>

or

<p><data:post.body/></p>

Then add following code AFTER above code

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == "item"'><span style='float: left; background: url(http://lh6.ggpht.com/_xn2gmPb9TfM/Sb_fZkjAxpI/AAAAAAAAD3E/_9xpsQgFfTg/s128/twitter-16x16.png) left no-repeat; padding-left: 20px;'><script charset='utf-8' src='http://bit.ly/javascript-api.js?version=latest&amp;login=tweettrackjs&amp;apiKey=R_7e9987b2fd13d7e4e881f9cbb168f523' type='text/javascript'/>
<script charset='utf-8' src='http://s.bit.ly/TweetAndTrack.js?v=1.01' type='text/javascript'/>
<a expr:onclick='"return TweetAndTrack.open(this, "" + data:post.url + "");"' href='#'>
<span style='display:none;'>I'm reading: <data:post.title/></span>Tweet this!</a></span></b:if>

Save your template.

Method 2

Login to blogger and backup your template. Go to Layout > Edit HTML and click on "Expand widget templates". Press CTRL F and look for following code

p class=’post-footer-line post-footer-line-3

Now add following code AFTER above code

<a expr:href=’”http://twitter.com/home?status=Reading ” + data:post.title + ” @YOUR Twitter USERNAME ” + data:post.url’ title=’Tweet it on Twitter’><img src=’YOUR TWEETER IMAGE URL‘/></a>

Add your Tweeter user name and image url respectively.

Save your template.
