How to make money with your Blogger blog ?

Advertisements

Though some bloggers write blog just as a passion and not for money while many others are looking towards it as a profession and a good source of income. Many bloggers had quit their earlier jobs and took blogging as their full-time profession.

After setting a blog and getting some good traffic now it's time to make some money from your Blogger blog.

Here are some ways by which you can monetize your Blogger blog -

I. Showing Contextual Ads -

This is the most commonly used method of earning from a blog.Lots of bloggers are making thousands of dollars with this method.

In a broad sense, contextual ads are , 'ads related to the text material on your blog'. A contextual ads system scans the text of a wbpage for keywords and depending upon the keyword density displays ads on that pages.
e.g. if your blog is about games, you will get ads like - free games, game reviews etc.

Here you are paid for each click, hence also called as Pay Per Click i.e PPC ads.

Their are many networks showing contextuals ads, but I'll list some important players only -

1. Google Adsense - Father of all contextual advertising networks, more than 90% of webstites dispays Google Adsense ads.

2. Kontera - This can be used alongwith Gooogle Adsense on same site. This is a better option as an Adsense supplement. Being inline ads consumes no space on your blog.

3. Adbrite - Most common alternative for those banned from Google, but earnings can be quite low when compared to Google Adsense.( you just can't risk getting banned from Adsense.)

4. Bidvertiser - Again an alternative for those banned from Google Adsense, very less chances that your ads inventory will be full, again earnings not that good.

5. WidgetBucks - Visually good ads but get very less clicks hence less revenue. Some bloggers (including me) consider it a scam.

Others about which I've heard only once or twice are - Clicksor, PepperjamNetwork , etc.

II. Affiliate Marketing -

If the blogger have required skills then he can earn a lot with Affiliate Marketing.Beacause I am myself not that successful with affiliate marketing i'll not talk much about it.

But i'll give some basic idea about it. According to wikipedia, Affiliate marketing is -

Affiliate marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.
In simple words - you sell some products on your site and get some commission on each sale.

Some important Affiliate Marketing networks are -
  1. Commission Junction
  2. ClickBank
  3. Azoogle
  4. Amazon
  5. Chitika
III. Selling Text Links -

If your blog is having a good Google PageRank (>3) and also some good traffic then you can earn good money for placing the text-links on your blog.

But I would like to warn you that Google is strictly against selling text-links on your blogs/sites.It may fine you by decrasing your PR or even removing your site from their search-engine results(biggest example is John Chow), if Google notices it or somebody informs Google about this.So think twice befor selling text links on your blog.

Even though there is a risk, it can make some good add-on revenue for your adsense monetized blog, without taking much space on your blog

If you would like to take some risk, here are some networks -
  1. Text Link Ads
  2. LinkWorth
  3. TNX
  4. Text Link Brokers
  5. Link Adage
IV.Writing Reviews about other blogs -

This also a common method not liked by Google and get you banned from Google Search Results.

But if are adding a "rel=nofollow" attribute to your clients link, then Google have no problem with it.

Here are some big players -
  1. Pay Per Post
  2. Sponsored Review
  3. Review Me
  4. Bloggerwave
V. Showing CPM ads -

Here you need not require clicks for earning money, you are paid just for showing these cpm ads.

But bad news is many leading cpm networks do not accept domains with *.blogspot.com , they want their own doamin.

Hence if you are hosting your blog on custom domain, here list of top cpm ads networks -
  1. Tribal Fusion
  2. Burst Media
  3. Right Media
  4. Adsdaq
  5. Casale Media
(Get more information about top CPM ads network here.)

If you want to add anything more just comment it and i'll update the post if required.

I make pretty good money with Adsense on my web directory, but hardly anything on my blog which is installed in a sub-directory on the same Domain. I still think it has something to do with Entrecard, that Google doesn't think it is quality traffic.
I tried Kontera out for a short period, but I didn't like the mouse over popups. I did some research and seems like there is a lot of people who think it is annoying. So, I don't fell so bad about removing it.
I removed Adsense from my blog and tried Bidvertiser, that is for sure, not working. I pretty much like the stuff that when your visitors click, you get paid and selling ad space direct.
If anybody has some suggestions of other things to try, please suggest.

Hey Squeaky,

I am using both entrecard and Adsense on this blog, but still got good cost per click.I dont think Adsense dont like entrecard traffic.

It's other thing that traffic from Entrecard is not that interested in reading your blog and thus less clicks from entrecard traffic.

I agree that Knotera annoys the readers especially for the good-content blog...but can be used on other non-content blogs.I am also not planning to use it here.

In the end Adsense is the best to way to monetize your blog.

I profit with Adsense on my web catalog, however barely anything on my website which is commissioned in a sub-index on the same Domain. I still suppose it has something to do with Entrecard, that Google doesn't suppose it is quality activity.

I tried Kontera out for a brief time, however I didn't prefer the rodent over popups. I did some research and appears there is a considerable measure of individuals who suppose it is disturbing. Thus, I don't fell so awful about evacuating it.

I uprooted Adsense from my web journal and tried Bidvertiser, that is beyond any doubt, not living up to expectations. I basically like the stuff that when your guests click, you get paid and offering promotion space immediate.

Provided that anyone has a few inferences of different things to attempt, please infer. best fundraising ideas
